As a luxury travel agency the #1 question we receive is… “What is our favorite island?” From our experience in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Bahamas, we have some recommendations.
These are our awards for best island for couples, best for friends, and best for families!
For Couples: St. Lucia
We think St. Lucia makes the perfect couple’s getaway! For a honeymoon, vow renewal, or just because, St. Lucia’s 5-star resorts know how to set the mood with spas, champagne, and private plunge pools. The island’s hikes, waterfalls, springs, and botanical gardens ensure plenty of fun dates (if you can manage to leave the resort)!St. Lucia has love in the air. Take it all in with a couple’s massage, candlelit dinner at the water’s edge, or a lobster and champagne sunset cruise!
For Friends: Yacht Charter in the British Virgin Islands
With a captain, chef, and first mate to take care of you, all that’s left to do on a yacht charter is have fun with your friends as you explore the British Virgin Islands. Most of our sailing catamarans have four cabins to fit four couples or eight guests! These are expertly designed to glide effortlessly and steadily through the water.
The BVI are known for some of the best boating in the world. A few must see spots include:
The Baths: Serene rock pools and massive smooth boulders make The Baths a must-see for first time visitors to the British Virgin Islands. The boulders are the unique geologic result of slowly cooling molten rock and millions of years of weathering. Visitors can explore the sheltered channels to relax in hidden rock pools, or if you’re seeking an extra rush, there are safe spots to do some boulder jumping!
Jost Van Dyke: The perfect party island with over 30 beach bars to choose from! Imbibe at the famous Soggy Dollar Bar-home of the original Painkiller Rum cocktail.
The Indians: One of the best snorkel/dive locations in the BVI! Four pinnacles jut out of 50 feet of water. The rock formations and currents create prime conditions for sea life in abundant coral gardens, an underwater cavern, and a short tunnel.

For Families: U.S. Virgin Islands
Grandparents, kids, and grandkids can all enjoy what the U.S. Virgin Islands offer. This is an awesome choice for multigenerational groups, and we have a range of accessible villas for people with low mobility.
Here are some of our favorite things to do on St. John!
Beaches:
Maho Beach provides excellent snorkeling, paddleboarding, and kayaking with the turtles! You can find gear rentals and a bar + small food truck at the beach.
Trunk Bay is one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Amenities include restrooms, showers, rental chairs, snorkel gear, food, and drinks.
We have a selection of stunning powerboats and catamarans equipped with private bathrooms to charter for the day. The professional crew will take care of you and bring you to the best bars, secluded beaches, and cays. Other options include half day charters and sunset sails on a 50’ sailing catamaran.
Hiking:
Ram Head is our favorite trail with the best views! We recommend bringing a day bag and after hiking, take a swim to cool off at Salt Pond.
Lind Point Trail is another favorite. This hike is a loop that passes various beaches and has a great lookout to Cruz Beach.
That sums up our island awards! St. Lucia for couples, BVI yacht charter for friends, and St. John, USVI for families. We love helping clients choose the best destination for their group. Contact us at info@blueskyluxurytravels.com for any help booking accommodations and experiences. Warmly,
