Top 5 Caribbean Destinations for Adventure

Choosing the right destination is the first step to any great vacation. Here we have compiled a list of our top 5 Caribbean destinations for family fun. These destinations offer a bit more of an adventurous and active trip. Our baseline criteria: must be safe, easy access, luxury villa rentals, and of course gorgeous white sand beaches!

1. Turks and Caicos

Providenciales takes top spot because there is so much to do! Golf, tennis, horseback riding, boating, water sports, etc. There is a great kids camp for our younger guests to meet friends and have fun (as an extra bonus it provides some alone time for the adults)!

The island also has a nonprofit named Potcake Place. This organization finds stray animals forever homes but they also offer socialization walks where you can walk their puppies on Grace Bay Beach. It’s a great way to help out a nonprofit and interact with their adorable puppies.

2. Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman offers a lot of unique things to do in addition to great golf and tennis. One of the most popular activities is a trip to Stingray City sandbar. It is aptly named and you will see (and hold if you are feeling brave) dozens of Southern stingrays. There is also a swimming ponies tour where you ride the ponies on the beach and then take off the saddle and ride bareback in the ocean! Also add to the itinerary bioluminescent tours, a submarine ride that brings you down to 100 ft, a shipwreck for scuba divers to explore, and of course 7-mile beach which is so beautiful with very calm waters.

3. British Virgin Islands

We love Oil Nut Bay which is a five star resort complete with villa rentals. It is a great concept as you have the privacy and benefits of your own luxury villa but also have access to all of the resort amenities. Since Oil Nut Bay is a golf cart island, you just hop in your golf cart and ride to the beach, restaurant, pool, tennis, or pickleball courts.

Oil Nut Bay is also right next to Necker Island. There are both private and group tours that bring you to the island and allow you to explore the wildlife there. You can feed the lemurs and see giant 100 year old tortoises, flamingos, miniature horses, etc. It is an incredible tour we highly recommend and is often the highlight of BVI vacations.

4. Antigua

If your family is more nautically inclined you will really appreciate Nelson’s Dockyard. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and the historic dockyard is still in operation. Today it is full of sailboats and megayachts and offers private/VIP tours of the park.

If after Nelson’s Dockyard you are inspired to cruise the Caribbean sea, we are happy to book a private day or half-day charter. Antigua also offers excellent tennis, golf, and a donkey sanctuary that kids love.

5. Anguilla

Anguilla is a sleepier island but The Four Seasons (which used to be a Viceroy) is a one stop shop for fun. The resort offers great tennis, 3 beautiful pools, a beautiful beach, a basketball court, and rock climbing.

There is also a pristine Greg Norman course on the island!

Family vacations are a special time to enjoy and bond with loved ones. These are our top active and adventurous destinations to ensure lasting memories and smiles all around. Contact us and we will help book and plan so all you have to focus on is quality family time.
